Haresprint. Harsh wind tugged at the grasses of Windclan camp, accompanied by a light shower that spritzed the parched land. Despite the rain, the sky was blue, with thin wisps of cotton stretching across. 'Twas a day complete with a rainbow dancing on the raindrops.
All of this Haresprint took in with a mighty sigh. His body rest on a decent sized rock near the camp entrance, but his spirit was stuck in the clouds somewhere. He rolled onto his back and closed his eyes--too bored to be sensible. It wasn't that he was lacking in things to do, it was because he had too many things to do, but none of them he felt compelled to do in the present.
Haresprint thought that mabye he liked boredom better. Or, mabye he wished someone would come by and relieve him of his boredom. The medicine cat couldn't decide which, but it didn't really matter. If someone came by to say anything save what time of day you should pick Marigold, he would certainly have been at a loss for words.

Brooksplash padded around Windclan territory. The gray warrior was half on a patrol and half bored, she had done so much lately today now all she wanted to do was play. But play time was for kits and she knew well enough if Luckystrike found her playing he would have her tail. Even though they were friends he was a little to serious to her liking. He needed to learn when to relax and she had promised herself that she would teach him. But first she would get rid of this boredom. Her sea foam eyes darted looking for something to amuse her, but instead she found herself inhaling the scent of another cat of her clan. It was a tom but which tom she did not exactly know. She hadn't met many other warriors as she was busy doing duties and helping out the medicine cat as usual.
She dropped to a crouch giving a silent prayer to Starclan that it was not Luckystrike. She weaved through the grass before she saw the tail of another cat. It was a tom in fact and he seem to be tearing at the grass either in annoyance or boredom she couldn't decipher which one. She arched and eye brow watching his tail swish in the grass. Her kit like nature took over and before she realized it she was tensing up her muscles to jump forward. As she leaped forward onto the cats back she rolled over bring him with her before she pinned him and nipped his ear. Surprise attack at its best. She laughed before speaking with a small purr of amusement at his slightly shocked face.
"I know its a weird way to meet but Hi.."

Haresprint. Haresprint snapped back to reality only to find himself knocked off of his stony perch, and pinned to the ground by a she-cat he didn't know. His first, natural reaction was pure horror--an emotion that showed clearly on his features. (Haresprint had never been good at fighting, nor did he like it.) But as the shock wore away, he realized that it was only Brooksplash.
"What...the..mouse tail...were you thinking?!?" he panted, trying not to wail like a lost kit. The medicine cat had been truly frightened, and now felt on the brink of desperation."You shouldn't sneak up on cats like that!" As he neared the end of the sentence, a whine crept into his mew. Haresprint's pelt grew hot with embarrassment. He had never been good at taking jokes; he just didn't know what to do! The black and white tom felt the urge to crawl in a hole somewhere and never come out.

Brooksplash nearly laughed when she realized it was Haresprint. She gave him a friendly lick on the ear before rising off of him. She sat down and watched him rise to his paws. He seemed scared out of his wits and this made her purr in amusement. She sea foam eyes glowing as she watch him try to settle his own nerves. She felt bad for a moment and softly let her motherly like tone come into play.
"Sorry I couldn't help it... I didn't even realize it was you... But you are okay yes?"
She was a bit upset with herself but would not let that show as it was more amusing how shocked he had been. Her tail lashed about as she tried not to stress the fact she had mistakenly attacked her medicine cat. She gave him a reassuring smile before she traveled into deep thought of who would know what. It was in particular about how many little cats she knew in her own clan thus causing her to form a frown unaware.

Haresprint. The medicine cat scrambled back quickly upon sitting up, causing him to tumble backwards into the grass once again. He was grateful to Brooksplash for letting him up; but still flustered. Wiggling onto his belly, Haresprint finally sat up and delivered a few licks to his ruffled pelt. "Y-yeah-It's alright." the tom muttered.
Brooksplash, he could see, had retreated a few paces, and had a look of guilt about her. Haresprint felt even more red about acting like such a scaredy-mouse. He and his socially awkward persona were in for it today. "So...what exactly were you doing?"

Brooksplash was brought back to reality with Haresprint's questions. She didn't really want to tell him that she was playing. As she didn't want to seem like a kit to him. He was the closet thing she had to a friend so far. This made her nervous and uncomfortable which brought forth her odd habit of forcing her paw to make circular motion on the ground when she was nervous. At least she didn't stutter but she couldn't lie. Her sea foam eyes always betrayed her. She exhaled deeply as she mustered up the courage to speak again
"I was bored, saw your tail and attacked it."
She said it with a sheepish grin but her eyes didn't meet his. She looked at her paw silently cursing her nervous habit. She suddenly wanted to vanish from site but she wouldn't not until she knew he was calm again. Perhaps she could fetch some herbs for him to make it better. She would ask him later after the awkwardness passed between the two of them.

Haresprint. "He-oh. Okay. I'm okay...ok," he meowed, nodding. The mollified Haresprint looked at Brooksplash, smiling slightly. Now that the awkwardness had faded, Haresprint felt a little more confident. Perhaps he could slip away from his duties for a bit, aided by this warrior. If only she wanted to aswell. Haresprint flicked his ear in dismissal.
"I was just...well, I've been busy lately. It helps to have an apprentice and all, but..." That was it. That was the Windclan Medicine cat's sad attempt at starting a conversation. He could only hope that he didn't sound as painfully awkward as he felt.

Brooksplash took the hinting of his words on needing more help. He was certainly passive about things and this made her smile a little. She stood drawing closer to him her stone gray pelt glowed at bit by the sun's bright rays. She cocked her head at him before speaking.
"Would you like some help? I'm not busy obviously..."
She said the last part with a guilty note. She had still felt a tad disappointed she had startled him in such the manner. But this time it didn't show instead the thoughts that raced through her mind were about how Luckystrike would kill her for not reporting to him about the patrol she had said she was going on. It had been half a lie, and she didn't know how she had managed it out so smoothly.

Haresprint. He opened his mouth slightly, about to protest. Words lingered in the air for awhile, until the tomcat gulped, and found his voice. "N-no, not exactly. I mean...I don't know what I mean, I mean...um.." Haresprint hated words. Actually, he hated socializing in general. But why could his attacker not have been male? Females always seemed to look down at him, or get irritated by his curt quietness and awkward tendencies. But, somehow, Brooksplash seemed different. She seemed like the kind of cat who understood people. Mabye she would understand if...
"I mean, I kinda want to get away from my duties, ya' know?" he mewed, wincing. Haresprint half-expected her to yell at him, or scold him. What kind of medicine cat did that? Tried to escape their duties, let down their clan? The black and white Tom hung his head in shame, expecting the worst. Even if she didn't yell at him, he couldn't help but feel that she would think less of him.
Then, the medicine cat gave himself a metaphorical cuff over the ear. You're over-analyzing things. She hasn't even said anything yet! You always do that when you're nervous, so shut up! His green eyes peeked up from their downward gaze, watching her with expectant eyes.

Brooksplash smiled at his nervous stutter, it was adorable like a little kit learning to talk. It reminded her of Chasepaw when he was a kit. Unfortunately the little calico cat did not live to become a warrior. She frowned as she had become the cat's adopted mother when his real mother, Breezewind passed to green cough. That had caused the young cat to start to stutter as a nervous habit. She wondered what caused Haresprint to be so nervous. Besides the obvious of what most cats knew, which happen to be that he was a tad bit awkward and antisocial.
She knew that a few she-cats found him strange but of course she didn't. Although the stone colored she-cat had always been quite the rebel. She had wanted to be a medicine cat but had a strong sense of being a parent so she turned it down. Concentrating on that thought she noticed her and Haresprint were much alike. Both soft spoken, sweet and considerate. She was a bit more out going in action than he was and had a strong sense of justice about her but that was all that differed the two from what she knew of him. Realizing she was zoning out she focused back on Haresprint's words.
Her ears twitched listening to him wanting to speak but would let him finish. Abruptly a frown fell upon her face at him scuffing himself. It made her worry and feel responsible for it. She didn't want to make him nervous anymore as he seen to be punishing himself for being nervous. Brooksplash didn't exactly know how to go about her inner thoughts with Haresprint. She wanted to let him know that he didn't have to nervous around her but she figured that would only embarrass him. When his green eyes met her sea foam she took that as her chance to speak.
"Thats fine, do you think your up for the challenge of my games?"
It was a mere friendly but teasing purr. She swallowed a laugh as she thought her own words were a bit funny. She wondered what he had been thinking of as he gazed at the ground. Brooksplash wondered if it was of her or other cats in general. He seemed awfully on edge probably hurt fault for attacking him. Then she remembered maybe it was because he didnt know how to fight. She knew she would teach him if he'd let her. First he had to accept her little game that she wanted to play.

Haresprint. "Ok!" he mewed a little too enthusiastically. Haresprint thought back to the last time he had played, which was with the previous Windclan medicine cat. He had been only an apprentice then, but he could still remember it as if it had been only a sunrise ago.A shudder went through his body at the time-worn memory.
"Can't catch me, Ashwood!" Harepaw taunted, emitting a squeal of delight as the gray and white warrior tried to scramble up the Birch tree. The apprentice had somehow managed to climb to the first branch, just a mouse-length from his mentor's jumping range; and he was obviously proud. With a huff, another branch became his support beam. There was no way Ashwood could catch him now! Suddenly, the mischevious grin faded fom his face as he lost his balance, and fell from the tree. Just as suddenly, he felt something soft, yet slightly bony break his fall. Ashwood slipped out fom beneath the apprentice with a good-natured groan. "How'd you get so fat, Harepaw? The black and white apprentice blinked and batted Ashwood with his tail. Good ole' Ashwood, always looking out for him. A smile returned to his face. "Well, Mother always said that we could be kits from the same litter!'
A hollow look developed on Haresprint's features, but it quickly faded as he looked back at Brooksplash; but soon a forced half-smile masked the fleeting memory. "I mean: yeah. I guess so," he corrected. "I can try, at least."

Brooksplash smiled as him drawing a bit closer so the distance was shorter. She would teach him but how? She would go about offense first for him. Guessing if she had attacked him he would freak out again. But would he listen to her if she said attack me? Probably not but only one way to find out. She settled herself into a minor self defense position. Maybe they could play pin. She often played that as a kit. It was quite easy to play it as all you had to do was pin the other cat for three seconds. Her sea foam eyes gleamed with excitement as she formed her words.
"Alright, well play Pin. Its simple and doesn't involve fighting skills really. Basically you just have to pin the other cat to the ground. Like I did you when we first met."
She gave him a sheepish grin at her last words and waited for him to make the first move to start the game. This would be quite amusing if they both decided to actually have fun without worries. She could do that but could Haresprint? That was a question that could only be answered by the black and white tom before her.
(My muse sucks >.<)
