Her tail was twitching, not because of anything pressing, no, she just was not enjoying her free time. She had already been on more patrols this morning than any normal warrior would go on in several days. Sitting still was something she just did not do well at all, she never had. She had been ordered to rest for a bit, let some others go out and patrol. Never had she been more frustrated. What was she suppose to do with her free time? What was this relax that she was told of? Brightcloud had never been one to rest in the middle of the day, she never had been. Even as an apprentice, she had pestered her mentor to bring her along on every patrol. When her mentor had enough of her, he would send her with another cat. Maybe that is why she had been made a warrior so quickly.
The she-cat casted a green-eyed glance to the entrance of camp. Maybe she could just stroll towards the entrance and accidentally step into the territory and then accidently go hunting. Surely a few more pieces of prey wouldn’t hurt anything. The she-cat had pushed past all of the aches and pains she felt in her body, even the large gash she had on her side. It had reopened earlier this morning on her first patrol. A thorn had snagged her in the side, and then she fell in a bush, deepening the wound. But the she-cat had pushed through the pain, shrugging it off as nothing serious. Even when she was told to rest, she had gone on another patrol.
Brightcloud sighed and felt pains in her stomach. Maybe eating something would be a good idea. She had forgotten to do so earlier. Nodding to herself, the she-cat grabbed a small piece of prey, it looked like a mouse, but Brightcloud really didn’t care enough to look. It would suffice her for a while. Tearing into the prey, she finished it quickly. Now that she was recharged, she began to lick the wound she had received earlier. It was nasty looking, but didn’t appear too deep. Then again, she wasn’t a medicine cat so she had no clue. It took quite a lot for this she-cat to feel pain. With a grin to herself, she began to creep a little ways toward camp, ignoring the throbbing pain in her side. Forget resting, she was needed elsewhere.

Foxbrush sauntered into camp. 5 patrols and it was only just Sunhigh! He heard a whispered instruction from the patrol leader- "Go and Rest. You've done enough." "Yes, okay.".
On his way to the warriors den, he spotted Brightcloud, creeping out of camp. She looked to have a nasty wound on her flank, so he decided he'd try and talk sense to her. He came towards her, licked her ear in a friendly gesture. "Brightcloud, surely you're not sneaking out of camp with that? Let me take a quick look, at least?" Foxbrush was no medicine cat, that was true, but he knew she was far too stubborn to 'take' the medicine cat's valuable time.

Almost there, just a few more pawsteps and she would be free to go and do something useful. She felt like a kit creeping out of the nursery while the queens slept. Just as her paw was about to step out, she had been spotted. Oh great, now she was caught. With a sigh she turned to her captor and forced a small grin on her face.
Thankfully it was only Foxbrush who had caught her, any other cat and she would have been worried. He liked to patrol just as much as she did, surely he could understand. "No, I was just going to..."
she started, trying to come up with a lie that would work in the situation, but nothing did. Looking to the ground she admitted defeat. "I was just going to hunt, and it isn't that bad of a wound, just a little cut. I hardly even notice it is there." she meowed carefully. Brightcloud thought about it for a minute. Would it be okay for him to check out her wound? Well, he wasn't a medicine cat, but he wasn't in charge of her either. Maybe it would be okay. "Fine you can look, but it really is nothing. I can ignore it, and I'm sure you have other things to do." She tried to procrastinate, but eventually just sat down, her eyes reavealing the pain she was in as she felt the effects of the gash. Maybe sitting wasn't a good idea.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
