Thunder Clashes at the River [Me & Jig]

[Breezy]

Hawkstar flexed his large brown paws as he slid down to his side of the river bank. Riverclan layed on the other side of the blue murky water most likely planning to take his side of the river as well. He shook his head those cats were not the brightest ones in the forest. He didn't even understand how they seem to catch those lightning like fish that breathed in the river.

He shrugged no need to worry about that as he wasn't going to be catching any fish any time soon. He crouched down after swatting down a few pieces of tall grass that hung near the edge of where the earth ended and the river started. Land and water collide, was the thought that ran through his head suddenly. It sent a chill down his spine but it did not stop him from quenching his thirst.

He lapped up the water as if he hadn't drank from it in days when in reality he had come to the river everyday since he had become leader. He was nervous with his position but of course no one could see that not even his deputy. He was unease with the role as because of how he earned it. The old leader didn't die in justice he died because he was set up by an old cat in his clan named Blackfur. He had drown the Thunderclan leader with hopes of him becoming leader but Hawkfrost had spotted him and told Goldenstar's mate Ivorypelt. He sighed maybe that was why he return to the river so often. In hope of seeing his leader again? He didn't know the real reason behind his visits to the river. Meanwhile the memory of Blackfur had made him different. Once they had found out of this they had rid Blackfur of being a Thunderclan cat. He didn't know of his where abouts but the last words exchange rang in his mind haunting his dreams.

"I will get my revenge on you Hawkfrost...you will beg me to end your life before it's all over."

Just the thought of the cats words and grey eyes sent him into a sudden uncomfortableness and rage. Blackfur had spilt blood of his leader and love ones. Maybe thats why he was so brutal and distant now? It was an answer he knew but didn't want to find it. He sat back looking out across the river his eyes glossy and unreadable.

.Silverstream.

Sliverstream had already done the morning patrol, and was now sitting in camp, bored out of her mind. 'Maybe I should so fishing. The clan could use some new freshkill.' She thought. She got up and padded out of camp towards the river. The cool stones by the water felt soothing on her tired paws. She was looking for a place to start fishing when she looked up and noticed the Thunder Clan leader, Hawkstar, on the other side of the river. The sight did slightly intimidate her, but then he was still on Thunder Clan territory, and she was still on River Clan territory.

[Breezy]

Hawkstar blinked to suddenly find a beautiful silver tabby staring at him across the river. She seemed nervous to even be by the river while he was their. Had she seen him stalking back and forth muttering to himself. He hoped didn't think him to be insane.

She probably thought he was a big threat to her. He frowned at that thought he meant no harm to her whatsoever. He wasn't evil like Shadowclan who attacked without reason. He wanted to get closer so he could see her better. He cocked his head at her before calling out in a friendly manner to the she-cat.

"Hello there. How are you today?"

Well at lest he did not seem angry or trying to act imposing.

"I'm well." She said, relaxing. "My name is Silverstream by the way, it's nice too meet you in person, Hawkstar."

This was a bit awkward for her, most cats did not take time to talk on other sides of the river. However Hawkstar just seemed so nice she could not even think of trying to act all tough around her clan's boarder. She just hoped no patrols would be coming by any soon on ether side of the river.

[Breezy]

Silverstream? That's beauitful Hawkstar thought watching her for a moment. He was glad she had relaxed more but her ears alert as ever almost as if she was listening to a particular sound. Most likely a border patrol his had already passed so no one was coming on his side. He wanted to chat with her but about what exactly? He could talk about her clan but that would be obvious and expected. He sighed sometimes you couldn't surprise when you wanted too.

"How is Riverclan and All?"

Silverstream recalled a kithood memory once when she was Silverkit. She was messing around with her friends when one asked
'What kind of mate would you want to have?'
Silverstream replied with 'Someone handsome...and strong! Oh and loyal and brave too.'

That was kithood blabbering of course, but Hawkstar was handsome. And Strong. And loyal and brave...

She stopped daydreaming when he had asked her a question.

"Oh, very good." She meowed. "The prey is running well and we've met no badgers as of late."

[Breezy]

Hawkstar gave her a faint smile, then he remembered possibly why she came to river and he was sure it was not to chat with him. He began to wonder if she had a mate and kits. But of course she would she seemed fairly nice and her beauty wasn't in question. He swallowed down bitterness at the thought of her with a mate. What was he thinking in the first place after all forbidden love in his clan would make him look unloyal and weak.

"Sorry to get you off task I suppose you came here to catch fish not chat with me..."

"Well yes I did, and also I was bored." Silverstream meowed, she paused. "Wait, hold on." Silverstream changed her focus to the river and spotted a small, but fat fish. Her tail flicked slightly, then her paw dashed in the water and caught the fish. With her jaw she threw it across the river. "A gift from River Clan."

It was a harmless act, something to pay for wasting his time, but it felt wrong too.

[Breezy]

Hawkstar was amazed by her reflexs to catch the fish. He could of never done anything of the sort. When she tossed the fish over to his side of the river he was taken back. Friendly and generous, he wondered if she did that often. He'd have to repay her sometime and with more than just prey. He sniffed the fish suspiciously not sure, before he wrapped his jaws around it swallowing it in one giant gulp. He turned his attention back to the she-cat.

"Thank you for the fish maybe I can give you a squirrel sometime we have plenty."

Silverstream watched as the leader ate the fish, and was pleased when he seemed to like it.

"No problem!" She meowed. "We have plenty fish here." She looked down at her paws. "Well I guess you have duties to carry out.

Hawkstar gave her a faint smile not sure what to say in response. He was tripping over his own tongue to say the right thing it seemed. He just gazed back her trying to gather the correct words. His ears twitched when she reminded him of his duties. He frown he had forgotten he was a leader.

"Um yea... my duties..."

Was all he manage to come up with. He sighed and being a leader did not make his life easier although it gave you extra nine lives it didn't mean nothing when it took out your chance for love.
