.Barkpaw. [/u]
Barkpaw woke up and stretched. He yawned as he left his nest in the Medicine Den. He looked around, then stepped outside. He scented the air then sat down to start grooming himself. He started by licking his front paw, then the other. He started wiping his paw over his face and ears when he heard another cat near by. He looked up, but didn't see anyone, so he started to clean himself again. He hoped that Mintleaf would take him out to look for herbs, but doubted it. He had only gone out a few times, but knew that was because he was still young. He had only been named Medicine Cat Apprentice a few moons ago, and still had much to learn. He stopped cleaning, and stood up. He slowly walked over to the fresh kill pile and picked up a small mouse. Taking it by the tail, he returned to stick his head into the Medicine Den and see is Mintleaf was awake yet. He looked around, taking in the familiar scent of the den, alone with the herbs stored and used there. He backed out and waited near the den entrance, he sat down with his mouse.

Stretching, Mintleaf purred. What a lovely day it promised to be! She checked her herb supplies, making a mental checklist of the ones she was low on. ShadowClan was running low on Cobweb and Poppy seeds. I shall go and see if Barkpaw is awake, I can take him out to hunt for what we're low on.
She exited the den, found him sitting there waiting for her. "Come on, Barkpaw, we have herbs we need to find!"

.Barkleaf. [/u] The small brown tom jumped up at the chance to leave camp. He followed his mentor, wondering if she would allow him to wonder away from her some now to look for herbs, since this wasn't his first time, and he knew more of what he was looking for. He looked up at the tall pine trees that were dominate over his clan's land. The sharp, acidic scent of the pine sap always seemed to coat his pelt, and his tongue, but he didn't mind. No, to him that was the taste and scent of home. It was a part of him. He exited the camp behind Mintleaf, and instantly starts to scent the air. Nothing out of the ordinary, but he isn't scenting prey, or other cats, no, he in scenting for the sharp scent of herbs, many of which pierce the other scents for medicine cats. He is nowhere as good at this as Mintleaf, but he had had a good start, being told he was a fast learner, and was meant for this. His nose able to quickly smell and find herbs, even over fairly long distances. But he isn't perfect at being a medicine cat, or a student of any kind. His attention span in very limited, and he quickly becomes bored and restless, which can cause him to miss out on important lessons and loose the chance to learn something now because he is having to be retaught something he didn't pay attention to the first time. It was a tedious task, but Mintleaf was good with the young tom, and he was glad that she was kind and gentle when she had to repeat herself for the tom's benefit. His hazel eyes scanned the forest floor, pine needles littered most of it, forcing them to travel farther from camp to find most herbs, but cobwebs. Cobwebs were everywhere in the pine forest, catching the flying insects that were attracted to the sap of the trees. He looked around, trying to see where he could find some cobwebs as they walked deeper into the dark forest.
