LIONCLAW The ShadowClan deputy sat on a large log that rested in the middle of the marsh in ShadowClan. Her dark red flecked eyes where closed as she sat. Letting her thoughts just take over her mind. All Lionclaw really wanted to do, was the best for her clan, she knew the other clans saw her home as a place of darkness and nightmares. But to her, it really was home. From the marshy land, to the thunderpath. It was all she grew up knowing. Everything she had learned. It was all that she had to keep close to her heart.
The young she-cats heart would literally break, if anything at all where to happen to her clan. Plus, it was her first day. She wouldn't want something happening fight when she got the job. It just wouldn't be very fair. Then again, nothing really is fair. If everything was fair, every cat would be getting in trouble doing apprentice duties again. Maybe it was good that some things where not very fair in life. Lionclaw couldn't list them, but it sure was true. She knew that for a fact.

.Moonstar.
So much to do, so little time to do it. The days were just counting down to the next gathering. The clans would be shocked at the last leader's death due to the dogs. After Moonstar made sure those dogs were chased out before they became out of control.
Moonstar smiled to himself. 'Forget leader of just Shadow Clan,' He thought. 'Soon they would be calling me king of the forest!' Those clans wouldn't know what hit them.
Moonstar left the camp into the marshes of his too-small territory. The marshes always proved to be the best place to think. It was not long till Moonstar spotted his new deputy, Lionclaw.
"Hello, Lionclaw." Moonstar meowed quietly.

LIONCLAW The she-cat sat her tail wrapped around her legs. Her red-flecked eyes opened slowly as she watched everything around her. Lionclaw loved her clan. They where why she lived. If she didn't have her clan and clanmates, she didn't have anything. As she looked around the marsh, Lionclaw realized just how disgusting it must be to the other clans. With ThunderClan so used to their trees to hide under. Then RiverClan with the territory Lionclaw had never been on, not like she wanted to, it smelled like fish. Also WindClan, with their open moorland. The marsh would be different to each clan other than RiverClan.
"Hello, Lionclaw."
Lionclaw's head turned as she heard a voice. It was not the voice of an unknown cat, but of her leader, Moonstar. He had taken the place of the ShadowClan former leader. After he had been attacked and killed by a large pack of dogs. He had been a friend of Lionclaws. She did miss him, but she had also missed Kestrelwing, but that was a completely different story. The former leader, Shadestar, was her grandmothers brother. So really, Lionclaw was related to him, but not many cats knew that. Just something that stayed amongst her family.
Know it was Moonstar that was in charge of the clan. Lionclaw still didn't know why he had choosen her to be his right paw cat, or whatever. Though, Lionclaw didn't really trust him or even believe him when he said he would keep the peace. It was just the way he walked and talked, how he had the look of confidence and slyness in his gaze. Then the way he spoke like he wanted something more than what he already had. But Lionclaw just went along with it all. If he showed any signs of it, Lionclaw would be on top of it. "Hello Moonstar," she mewed to her newly appointed leader.

.Moonstar.
Moonstar watched his deputy carefully, Lionclaw was a strong warrior, someone who seemed strong enough to be at his side during his plot. But lately she seemed... unsure of herself? Moonstar coudn't tell. He'd just have to watch more carefully. He couldn't have a deputy having second thoughts during his plot now could he?
"How have you been?" He asked her.

LIONCLAW Lionclaw felt her muscles tencen under her fur. Moonstar was looking over her like he knew what she was thinking. Was it that obvious that she was so unconforable around the new leader? The way he looked at her, he had to know, how would he not. But then again, how would he? Had Lionclaw said something outloud about it that she had thought had only been spoken in her mind. Lionclaw's heart was pounding hard in her chest. She really needed to look like she trusted and was on his side. It was what she could do to save her clan. Even if it ment doing everything that he told her to.
Then it hit her, maybe she seemed to show less confidence in herself. Since Moonstar had granted get the position of deputy, Lionclaw had acted different then she had. She was questioning every move she made. She was deputy, she needed to at least act like she knew what she was going to do. She needed to wait till Moonstar actually did what she expected him to. Lionclaw needed to focus her mind on what was going on right know, not what could possibly happen. That would be her goal for the next few moons until Moonstar did something, but maybe it would be less time.
"How have you been?"
Lionclaw had been so into her thoughts, she had almost missed what Moonstar had said to her. Was this a test? Or just a friendly question. It had to be just a question, but the look in his eye bothered her. But she wouldn't let any of that show threw her. Lionclaw needed to keep her mind clear of everything that did not matter. She would just have a somewhat friendly conversation with him. "Fine, how are you Moonstar?" she asked him. Her eyes where fixed on him, they where almost unblinking.

Crystalpaw sat hiding in a bush as she listened to the deputy and her leader as they had a conversation. Soon she began to wonder what was going on with these two. She thought as she watched them watching their eyes their pelts and there motions.

.Moonstar.
Moonstar's ear twitched slightly. Someone was watching them, a Shadow Clan, but still eavesdropping. Even knowing this, Moonstar did not take his attention away from the deputy.
"I've been great." Moonstar replied to the deputy. "I can't wait to take this clan to greatness." Was that a sly smirk he had? If cats could even 'smirk'.
Moonstar looked over his shoulder into the bushes. "What are you doing so far from camp, Cystalpaw?" He asked.

Boring was what Crystalpaw had begun to think when she heard her name. she looked out at them to see who has said it. when she looked she caught Moonstar's glare. Knowing that she had been spotted she decided to give up on hiding.
Crystalpaw walked out looking down at the ground as she did. her tail trailed her as it was dragged across the ground. I am sorry moonstar. I am sorry for spying. I...I...I just wanted to know what was going on and i thought you guys would yell if i just asked what you were doing. she explained still looking down.
