He can be short-tempered. But it can take a few times to make his snap. Though tries to keep his anger contained. Darkstep actually does an ok good job at keeping his anger hidden. He can't take annoying cats. Though, he may snap every once in a while. It is best to listen to what Darkstep tells you the first time. That is what makes him a little bit angry. Like, when he tells you to quite talking about your hunting. He expects you to stop when he asks you. At first, it will be polite, then, get more forceful as he asks you. Until he just cracks and starts to snap and growl at you. It may only take a few times to do that. So be careful with how much you talk.
Despite his short-temper. Darkstep is a very understanding cat. He will try and comfort you is he notices that something is wrong. Then, will try his best to be as understanding as he can possibly be. There are not many cats that he would not want to help out. Even from another clan. To him, inside they are all the same inside. He knows other cats judge cats by what clan they are in. Darkstep is not one of those cats. He knows that there are many stories that the other clans tell there kits about his clan, he doesn't mind.

History:
20moons ago, Suncloud gave birth to the warrior Flameshade's kits, who had died a few days before in an accident on the thunderpath. The kits names where Darkkit, and Flamekit. Both dark ginger a tom, and she-cat. Sadly, Suncloud died when she was giving birth to the two kits. Flamekit died soon of a sickness that no cat knew what it was. Suncloud's only living kit was left to be raised and nursed by a queen whose kits had been born two days before them, Larkkit, Hawkkit, and Owlkit. Two she-cats and a tom. Darkkit was like her other kit, she treated him the same as the other three. Hawkkit was like a real brother to him, they each got into much trouble. From getting two fox lengths out of camp, to getting into the Medicine Cats den and 'sampling' some herbs. Each got into lots of trouble. Larkkit and Owlkit became apprentices before they did. Darkkit and Hawkkit guessed it was because they got into a lot more trouble, then they did. It was several moons later, after many, many, more trouble makings, did they finally get there apprentice ceremony at last.
As an apprentice, Darkpaw was mentored by a senior warrior by the name of Meadowbreeze. She was a good warrior. She was a skilled hunter, and a strong fighter. Darkpaw began to grow away from Hawkpaw more and more. Hawkpaw began to want to go and do more reckless things. He would get angry, when Darkpaw turned him down a few times. Darkpaw really wanted to become a warrior faster than he had been granted his apprenticeship. Hawkpaw appeared to understand, but Darkpaw knew that he didn't. When he tried to get Owlpaw in on one of his scams. Soon, Larkpaw died from the same things that happened to his sister Flamekit right after she was born. Owlpaw, Hawkpaw, and Darkpaw where all distort. Owlpaw seemed to just go mad. One day, she went out hunting, then never came back to the clan. That left Hawkpaw with losing two sisters. Though so did Darkpaw, Hawkpaw just became very cold and harsh all the time. Darkpaw became worried when he even became more violent during training. While on there warriors assessment, Hawkpaw and Darkpaw where hunting, Hawkpaw ran onto the thunderpath and got hit. Darkpaw wondered why he went out, when Darkpaw knew that he was smarter then that. He finally did get his warrior ceremony, down four siblings, but still a warrior.
