Snowfall walked out of camp and sighed wondering why no one ever wanted to hang with her as she headed to the river. When she reached the river she came to a stop her ears flicking back and forth and she gazed into the water. Suddenly a fish darted past and her paw shot out and she hooked it out of the river and killed it.

The large warrior moved slowly across the moist land. His black and brown tabby pelt helping him blend in. He had already caught a few small fish, and with nothing else to do at the time, had decided to take a walk. He liked his space, and the peace offered by the river. The constant sound soothing. Then, a little ways off, he noticed another cat. Snowfall, a Riverclan she-cat, was fishing on the bank of the river. With a flash, her paw shot out, hooking a small fish. He continued to watch, unsure how to approach her. He was never really one for long talks, or talking at all really, but he was friendly. Seeing her alone, he count help wishing to provide company. Nice catch.
he managed at last when he was closer to her. He had dropped and buried his fish where he had first noticed her, not wanting to loose them to scavengers. His crystal clear blue eyes warmly greeting her. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Snowfall pricked her ears when she heard paw steps and glanced up to see Duststorm approach her and compliment her on her catch. "Thank you, it looks like you've been hunting well," she meowed glancing at the place he had dropped his fish her ears flicking back and forth. "How have you been?" she asked trying to strike up a small conversation with him.

He looked back at his pile as she mentioned it. Then back toward her. Uh, thanks.
he mumbled. Then looked up at her again. Her fur pure white, her eyes unique, one green, the other blue. She didn't look like most of the other Riverclan cats, but she was still beautiful. He realized now that she was like him in a way. Although the other clan cats knew them, they never really included him. He didn't mind, since that was his nature, but her? He didn't know. He twitched his ears as she spoke again. I have been good. How have you been? he returned the question. He hadn't realized it, but he was starting to speak in longer turns. Maybe they could be friends. He was friendly to everyone, and always willing to please, but he didn't really have any friends. No one to talk to, to play with, to hunt beside. He helped, and was helped, but that was all. He was never asked to go out of his way for anyone else, and never asked another to go out of their way for him. Maybe that could change, should change? Either way, he wanted to let Snowfall know she was wanted and welcome in Riverclan, even if she was left out, it wasn't such a bad thing. Or so he believed, but she might see things differently.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Snowfall listened to him speak and flicked her ears when she finally recieved the answer she was looking for she was glad that he was doing well and thought that he was a little handsome. "Oh, I'm fine," Snowfall meowed not really able to think of anything else to say so she just decided to talk about the weather. "It is surprising cool outside considering that it is nearly Leafbare," she meowed. When she had woken up in the morning she had expected to be cold, and was relieved when it was cool instead.

The stocky tabby tom was glad to hear that she was doing good. He wanted to say more, but not being one for words, he was at a loss. He looked away for a moment, gathering his thoughts. Their was a nice breeze, chilly, but not cold for this time of year. The sun had reached its peak, and was now on it's slow decent down. If was still early evening. Light fluffy clouds rolled gracefully by. The river was still up, and the fish still swam well for now. That could change any day, but Duststorm wasn't one to worry about the future. He took in a deep breath, enjoying the chill air as it hit his lungs. He let it out, and turned to speak just as Snowfall spoke. Yeah, it's nice. I...uh... I wanted to know...
He spoke, then trailed off. Why was this so hard for him? It wasn't anything odd. He started again, speaking fast, blurting it out this time. Can we be friends? he blurted. Then looked away, ashamed. The never really liked to show, or say, how he felt or what he thought, but it was too late now. It was out, and all he could do was wait. Would she be mad? Never talk to him again? Wait! What was he thinking. He just wanted to be her friend, that wasn't anything odd. He had friends, but well, he never really thought of them like that, or them of him, as far as he knew. They just lived and worked together. Was there more to being friends? Maybe, but he was about to find out. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Snowfall closed her eyes when the cool breeze ruffled her fur, but the snapped back open when he asked her if they could be friends. At first she was shocked after all he had blurted it out like he was afraid of asking her to be his friend. Of course we can be friends," she told them relieved that she would finally have a friend. 'Now, I won't be so lonely,' she thought flicking her tail wondering what they could do.

The large dark striped tom shifted again. Now what? He could tell his question had surprised her, but he was glad that she wanted to be friends. So what did friends do? Not being a social butterfly, he had never had this problem before. I, um, what do friends do? You would be my first.
he said, awkwardly. He hated having to say it, but the silence was worse that his confession. Fish? Or explore maybe? I'm sorry I really don't know. he went on, rambling now. He looked at her, hoping she would know, or think of something.[/blockquote][/blockquote] OOC: Sorry it's going so slow. I'm trying to think of some way to make it more exciting.

Snowfall thought for a minute, "I've never really had a friend eithier, but I think they do all the stuff they mentioned," she meowed flicking her ears back and forth.

He stood silent for a moment, thinking. Well, would you walk around for a while? Then maybe fish before coming back to camp? he asked, throwing around ideas. He listened to the river's voice as it rushed past, as he waited for her to speak. He hoped it wouldn't always be this awkward, but even if it was, he had a friend to go through it with now.

"That sounds good," Snowfall meowed her new cheerful as she stood up wondering what they should do with the fish they had caught. Burying it would only make it go bad so that was out of the question as she thought of what to do with their fish her gaze landed on a bush. "Let's put our fish in that bush until we return," she meowed nodding to the bush.

The Bengal tom nodded. Good idea.
he said as he walked back and picked up his fish, then moved over to the bush and hid it underneath. Do you have anywhere you want to go? he asked, as they started of at a direction at random. He had already been with the dawn patrol, and knew the far boarder was clear, but he thought she should choose where they went, since he was trying to help her feel better. He enjoyed the chance to stretch his legs, and to walk with a friend. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"How about a walk by the gorge," Snowfall meowed meowing the first place that came into mind knowing that they could accidently cross into Windclan territor, but hoped they didn't.

The large Bengal warrior looked at his new friend, waiting to her to reply. When she mentioned the gorge he grinned as he changed directions to head toward the gorge. He had the same thought just before she had spoken it. The gorge it is then. he said, his voice filled with his happiness. He did not know why, but just being able to walk with a friend made him more happy that he had been in a while, not since his warrior naming ceremony could he remember feeling this way. Sure he had been pleased, and happy many times since then, but this was different. He had that feeling that he had finally done something right, something that mattered. He loved the feeling, and hoped that Snowfall felt it too.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Snowfall bounded behind him occasionally looking over the river towards Thunderclan territory. "I don't see how they can live under the trees like that," she meowed her ears pricking when she began to hear that of roaring that could only mean that they were close to the gorge.

The orange and black striped tom purred as they walked along. Then he followed Snowfall's gaze into Thunderclan territory. I don't know how they can stay out of the water in the summer either. he said, disbelieving. The sound was growing louder. Soon they would have to yell to be heard, and after that even that would be lost. He walked close to Snowfall, they pelts brushing slightly as they moved on. The day was nice, but was much cooled near the water. The gorge was almost cold when they reached it. The spray from the falling water making a rainbow below them. It was beautiful, but there was something ominous about the gorge. Cats, warriors even, had died here. It was a bittersweet kind of beautiful. He looked on in silence, enjoying the view, but also regretting the choice to come here.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Snowfall was gazing at the sky letting her mind wonder as she gazed at the beauty of the gorge. "One of my favorite things about the river is watching the sun set on it, it is so beauty and it makes you realize that life isn't to be taken so lightly," Snowfall meowed then glanced at Duststorm embarrest. "I'm sorry I must sound like I'm gone crazy," she meowed thinking that he probably wouldn't get what she meant about the sun setting on the river.

He looked up, unsure how she had seemed to hear his thoughts. He had just be admiring the light as it played on the water. No, no I know what you mean...beautiful. he spoke, finishing distractedly. His mind enjoying the sound of her voice. Then he realized something wasn't right, but he wasn't sure what. Just then a loud yowl broke the serenity of the moment. He looked at Snowfall, his eyes wide. The sound had come from across the gorge, but he still could not see any thing. He waited, tense as he watched for the cause of the sound.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Snowfall heard the sound too and whipped around looking for the source of the sound hoping that it wasn't an enemy or that a cat hadn't fallen down the gorge.

The large Bengal tom stood tense. Then a large bird of prey rose up over the horizon. As is flew away he relaxed, realizing that the bird must have been hunting. He looked at Snowfall, his releif plan to see. I think we should be headed back. He suggested, not wanting to repeat the fear he had just felt. He shook himself, trying to shake the remaining fear that has clung to him. Licking his striped chest fur, he looked at her with amber honey eyes to see if she agreed.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
